Alan
Estridge grew up in Alabama loving Bugs Bunny and drawing cartoons.
After high school Alan lived in New Orleans, where he attended Tulane
University and made loud music in a rock band. New Orleans eventually
proved too relaxing for Alan, so he headed to Los Angeles to hit
it big in the movies.
Soon he was storyboarding and illustrating, but animation was calling.
So Alan went back to school to pursue his dreams of animating.
Alan’s
first film, the award-winning Cone-nundrum, is a traditional
2D piece exploring a boy’s problems distinguishing dreams
from reality. At Wit’s Vend uses 3D and 2D computer
animation to give you a candy bar’s view of the world of the
vending machine. It is screening in several film festivals around
the U.S., winning awards and critical acclaim.
Presently, Alan has completed his graduate studies at UCLA in the
Animation Workshop, and is in production on a 3D short titled Gridlock.
